FREAK MOTORCYCLE CRASH TAKES LIFE OF RUSK WOMAN, INJURES HER HUSBAND
Just before 6 pm Easter Sunday a male and his wife were heading north on I-69 just past Roman Forest Drive when the rear tire of his 2007 Yamaha motorcycle separated causing him to lose control and crash. Tire parts were found just over 300-yards prior to the resting place of the motorcycle. An off-duty paramedic was on the scene and started life-saving efforts almost immediately. However, the 45-year-old female from Rusk, Texas was pronounced deceased on the scene. Her husband was transported in stable condition to Kingwood Hospital. Neither were wearing helmets. The freeway was closed for almost 2-hours as DPS investigated. Roman Forest, Montgomery County Sheriff, Patton Village, and Splendora assisted with traffic control as did TxDOT. The Montgomery County District Attorney's Office is also assisting in the investigation. It was determined the driver of the motorcycle had no insurance, expired registration, and a suspended driver's license. Montgomery County Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace Wayne Mack responded to the scene for the inquest and ordered Eickenhorst Funeral Directors to transport the victim to the Montgomery County Forensic Center for autopsy.
